I never really understood what Jay-Z’s 99 problems were. If anything, he has it all! Money, fame, Beyonce, great clothes, tickets to any baseball game he wants. Did I mention he’s married to Beyonce? Plus, he now knows the joys of fatherhood. 99 problems? Pfft!
I don’t know if Jay-Z plays fantasy baseball, but I do know that if he does his team would be named “Hova’s Witnesses” and would be the smoothest fantasy baseball team outside of anything managed by the Dos Equis man.
In fantasy baseball there is always a problem position or two, usually due to a perceived lack of depth. Third base is not a problem position.
Let’s just spitball some of the top names in the position: Evan Longoria, Ryan Zimmerman, Pablo Sandoval… In fact, if you peek at our 3B rankings and projections (or just download our full Draft Kit) you’ll see that you can confidently go 10 deep, which is plenty for a standard 10 team, 5×5 league.
In addition to the 3 listed above, you have Jose Bautista, Adrian Beltre, David Wright, Michael Young, Kevin Youkilis, Alex Rodriguez, Brett Lawrie, and Aramis Ramirez. Not bad for a supposedly thin position.
The point is, don’t panic as the first couple big names go off the board and reach for a third baseman. Keep your head and stick to your plan.
In fact, 3B is becoming downright deep with Miguel Cabrera, Mark Trumbo, and Hanley Ramirez each expected to gain eligibility there!
You might have fantasy baseball problems, but third base ain’t one of them!
